  • In 1984 the Aga Khan Trust for Culture announced its decision to finance the creation of a park for the citizens of the Egyptian capital. so what had been a mountain of garbage, amassed  during 500 years, was in 2005,  transformed into the city’s first and The  the largest green space created in Cairo in over a century.
  • The US$ 30 million project was a gift to Cairo from the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and It was created on 30 hectare (74 acre).
