Lavender is species of mint family, there are many species of lavender which vary somewhat in appearance and aromatic quality.

Lavender  is native to a Mediterranean native, Canary Islands ,eastern Africa , southeast India and southwest Asia, and it is commercially valuable in the perfume manufacture .

 Lavender has been used for over 2000 years .The ancient Egyptians used it in  mummification process and they also perfumed their skin with Lavender, and The Romans used it for cooking and added to the water used for bathing.
