  • Chefchaouen is about two hours from the coastal town of Ceuta along the straight of Gibraltar and it is on the outskirts of the Rif Mountains in Morocco .
  • This small town has a rich history and wonderful architecture, but what it’s most famous for are the striking and vivid blue walls , It’s full of narrow, cobblestone maze-like streets.

  • Chefchaouen was Founded in 1471 by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa Ben Rached El Alami, Chefchaouen served as a Moorish fortress for exiles from Spain. Over the centuries, the city grew and welcomed Jews and Christian .
  • They are said that Jews introduced the blue colour there when they took refuge from Hitler in the thirties of the last century, The blue to symbolize the sky and heaven and the leading of a spiritual life , and now many also believe that the blue walls serve to repel mosquitoes as well
